Went to this place for a family member's birthday and had a great experience!! We did the hibachi experience and our chef was so pleasant and entertaining and the food was cooked well and so flavorful. I got the steak and shrimp hibachi meal and it felt like I got soooo much food so definitely worth the price tag. And just the price of our entire party's meal felt like not a lot for what all we ordered. Like for the somewhat large party that I went with, we would have paid more at other restaurants for not as much food but that wasn't the case here. The drinks were also GREAT! I got a blackberry mojito and they had a bunch of other mojito flavors and just an expansive drink menu overall. The environment as well was nice, quaint, and spacious. Staff were super friendly so they kept the good vibes flowing especially on a joyous day and celebration. So would definitely go there again and highly recommend!!

I had the pleasure of dining at Shinto Japanese Steakhouse. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that made for a great dining experience. The staff was attentive and provided excellent service throughout the evening. The chef was very talented, fun, and provided a good hibachi experience. When we first had their rich menu, we were a bit confused, but our server took his time and explained how ordering works when you are at the hibachi table. I had noodles, chicken fried rice, soup, and salad with mixed vegetables. For my entrées i picked shrimp and medium cooked steak. My goodness, the amount of food we received was a lot. And every bite was delicious. We also tried their dragon roll. I am not a fan of sushi, but dragon rolls were surprisingly delicious. However, the only thing I didn't like was my Pomegranate Cosmo drink. I especially ordered that one, thinking that it would be strong in flavors. But it was watered down, almost no taste. Overall, Shinto is a delightful spot for the Hibachi experience. Perfect spot for a fun date night. I highly recommend this place.

Wow! Great experience! The food was off the charts! Excellent service! Bree was our server , she was so nice, professional, and efficient. Made it very nice for us. The place was very, extremely busy. The children had a great time. Everyone raved about the food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Okay y’all, look no further for quality hibachi. What I loved the most about this location were alllllll the full tables on a cold Sunday wintry night. I would’ve expected more vacancy but it was pretty full (I would recommend a reservation). As we were sitting in our places, as our chef lit up the table, they were also firing off around us through the entire evening thus bringing excitement and joy to us all as we listened to the oooohs and aaahhhhhhs from surrounding tables. One thing I was fascinated to see as a protein on the hibachi list was tuna. That’s what my husband got and it was done perfectly. Basically flash seared on both sides and still super pink throughout. Don’t order the tuna if you don’t want it this way cause gross if you want it cooked through. Tuna should be eaten, basically raw. Our party also order steak cooked to different temps, also done correctly and perfect. The salmon was what I ordered and as you can see in my plate there are two pieces, both roughly 6 ounces each. This I was not expecting, I thought I was only getting 1 piece. The others in our group also received 2 so it wasn't just me getting lucky. What a pleasant surprise! All my kids gave me all their vegetables so I actually ate off of that for a whole other 2 meals, which totally rationalized the cost for me since I got to eat more than everyone else. Now. We also had a server who was quite attentive. Other places we’ve been to haven’t been so involved in our meal so that was a nice change as well to have our server frequently rounding. Expect to spend about $75/person after taxes and tip, esp if you’re purchasing alcohol. If not I would expect to spend a little less.

Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The food was to die for. Pictured here is our appetizer, the beef negimaki which was one of the best apps I’ve had anywhere to date. My steak and shrimp dinner was cooked perfectly and hit all the marks. I can’t wait to return. I cannot remember our waiter's name but I remember him sharing with us that he is Filipino. He was very courteous, attentive, and always had a smile on his face.

I have a complaint! I should not be limited to only five stars! My experience was profoundly exceptional and clearly a perfect ten! The Food was Excellent and the serving size was enough for a party of two! The food was hot, delicious, and joyfully served by Adrian with impeccable showmanship! The restaurant had a welcoming spirit and Brad the General Manager was truly a remarkable manager and caring on-site host! My twelve year old grandson picked this restaurant for his thirteenth birthday dinner! We had two tables of ten! It could not have worked out better! The teens sat together and the parents sat together but close enough to still be parents. I was impressed that my grandson could research and come up with such a good choice! As a “professional diner” and entertaining corporate clients for dinner and drinks for 40 years I know value when I see it! Shinto had no fluff! EVERYTHING WAS AUTHENTIC, WELL-STRUCTURED AND “TO DIE FOR!” I honestly believe that I expected to pay much more than I paid for my wife and me! The ambiance was perfect! However, and a big however, I think with a Japanese Oriental Soundtrack and beautiful floor to ceiling black velvet window treatment I could joyfully pay 30 to 40 percent more and even wait 30 minutes for seating just for the “perfect ten” dining experience at Shinto! After all, a little “snob appeal” can’t hurt! I am happy for Brad, Adrian, and Associates at Shinto! You have to open a location in Oak Brook! You have a dining concept that is without competition, and second to none! I have eaten at Big Bowl, Benihana, and P.F. Chang. Their “Asian Fusion Cuisine” is wonderful, but not “to die for!” My family and I wish Shinto our very best! We look forward to dining with you again soon! ~LCIII Hinsdale, Illinois
