About Indian Creek Steakhouse - steak house in Meridian, Idaho

Down-home restaurant & bar serving steaks & seafood, with live country music on weekends.

Customer Review Summary

Mixed reviews for Indian Creek Steakhouse highlight a range of experiences. Some diners found the steaks tender but lacking flavor, expressing disappointment given the high price tags. Others, however, praised the delicious food and vibrant atmosphere, particularly during Happy Hour with live music. Portions were generally considered good, but there were some consistent complaints about service and drink quality, including watered-down cocktails and slow bar service. Fried items were often noted as overcooked and greasy, with dishes frequently arriving lukewarm or oversalted. Despite the criticisms, many enjoyed the ambiance and are willing to return, especially for affordable lunch specials and lively evenings. Overall, the restaurant has a fun vibe but may fall short on consistency and quality for more upscale dining expectations.

Steak was tender but not much flavor. Would expect more from a $60+ ribeye. My wife did like the finger steaks. Portion sizes were good. It was supposed to be happy hour with cheap deals but that menu was nowhere to be found. The drinks were watered down also. If I ever go back I’ll try a burger or the finger steaks. Not worth the trip from Boise IMO.

It was a whole different vibe. The food was delicious 😋 Best steak I've had in Caldwell, Idaho! We got there during Happy Hour, you can not beat their prices. Mommy drinks 🍸hit the spot. The place had live music 🎶 and there were lots of people coming in to dance. Very spacious. Will definitely go back if I get the chance.

Going for Happy Hour is the most affordable way to approach this steakhouse, Lunch menu steaks get pretty expensive. From 1-4pm you can get a Burger & Fries for $10.99, an 8 ounce sirloin with two sides for $13.99 or my favorite, a 6 ounce sirloin and four garlic shrimp plus a side for $16.99. Drinks are $1 off for well, draft and house wines. During the Winter Wonderland, this is a good way to experience the million lights after HH without the huge crowds this downtown Caldwell attracts now. When I've gone in a group we get pretty good service, refills asked for on drinks, etc. With their two small kitchens, the food usually comes out in waves. When signing the check last time our server made sure to point out an automatic 20% service charge for over 8 people. Food is tasty, however a couple of negatives seem to come out each time. Fresh cut fries often over cooked and greasy (guessing the fry temps are too low or baskets filled to high so more oil is absorbed) some entrees not served hot (often sit under the warmer till the rest of the orders are ready) and over salted (the cooks are pretty heavy handed, so request less salt if you like it that way) and a pet peeve... what's with a slice of orange lon each plate? That's fine for a breakfast place but seems just strange to pair with a twenty dollar plus entree like grilled salmon. And this a western themed not fancy place, so don't expect a beautiful presentation. Positive notes, the burgers are cooked to temp as well as the steaks, the hamburger meat is thick, so turns out juicy. Steaks are tender. This place scores high as a spot to relax and have fun, especially evenings when the band starts and the dance floor is active and the noise from the pool table activities and upstairs echo off hard surfaces. Their formula attracts the crowds, but as I get older seems like my preferences for an expensive steak dinner lean more towards quiet enough to have a conversation, linen napkins, servers dressed up a little, etc.

Love the food here! The best steak in Caldwell!! The only crappy thing is every time we’ve been there, ( a lot) it takes forever to get drinks from the bar. Mixed drinks are not very good, but just a regular beer is great. Service is a hit or miss. This is a great place for a lunch, dinner date, large groups are accommodated and great place to bring the kiddos for a family night out.

I was hesitant to try this place based on reviews but was very impressed. My family of four stopped by and were warmly greeted by the hosts and sat promptly. I ordered the prime rib and it was cooked beautifully. My daughter enjoyed the pasta and sirloin and didn't have any complaints. My husband ordered the surf and turf and the shrimp had wonderful flavor. My son ordered the wings and they tasted fine. I loved the ambiance and the atmosphere - very much reminded me of an old fashioned steak house I frequented as a kid in Texas. I loved the pool tables, music, and warm environment. We will definitely be back to support a local steak house rather than a chain!

First time trying out this Caldwell icon, and I came in with high expectations. I started with an Old Fashioned: Well made and tasty. We ordered appetizers and it quickly became apparent that our server was not familiar with the order machine. When it came time for the apps to arrive, our suspicions turned out to be correct. Only one of the 2 apps ordered arrived. Much later, after requesting the app again, we had both. Pulled Pork Nachos & the Shrimp skewers. Both excellent! I ordered the Wagu Ribeye (medium) with a loaded baked potato and a salad, blue cheese. Our group numbered 4 and the salads arrived first. Order confusion continues as all 4 salads have Ranch dressing despite only one person ordering Ranch. Still, a good tasting salad. The main courses arrive and the steaks are all over the place relative to what we ordered. The little flags in the steaks match what we requested, but the cooking levels are not even close to the descriptions. I dig into my Wagu Ribeye, and sadly it was quite sinewy. The flavor was okay, but I really had to pick around the gristle to get the expected quality steak I expected. The loaded baked potato (a $2 up charge) differed from the not-loaded version my wife requested, by one ingredient... Mine had a small sprinkle of scallions. I have always thought that "loaded" included bacon crumbles, and thus justified the $2 premium. The side of beans was passable and the fry bread was a nice addition. The bill (split between 2 couples) was a mess and we just settled up between ourselves rather than wait for a fix. All in all the meal suffered mostly from server errors and a surprisingly sub par steak. For the money I'll probably skip the Indian Creek Steakhouse in the future.

Usually there are a swarm of young ladies at the reception counter busy with their phones, but today, nobody. After a 11 minute wait I was finally seated at a table in the bar. 11:45 am, not busy at all. Server promptly came over and I ordered a cheeseburger and a coke. So far so good. Food was ready quickly and she promptly served it. Hamburger meat was delicious as always, but I most definitely did not like the huge bun. Way too much bread and a strange cardboard taste. I left the bun and ate the meat. Now however, the French fries were served completely cold, not even warm, and had way too much salt. Didn't eat them at all. The Coke was ok.... Service was excellent she completely did her job so I left her a $5 tip on a $20 bill. This is the second time I have had this problem so I'm done with Indian Creek Steakhouse for good. What a shame... A person expects more from a $15 hamburger.
