We sat at the bar. Alex smiled & the rest is a memory for a lifetime. The food, drink & company were spectacular! We started with the oysters, drinks & conversation, dined on seared ahi & a crustration rice dish Poêlèe De La Mar, which was like a French paella, but even better. We topped our main course with the tart trio & a late harvest dolcè that made my toes quiver… our Wait staff were attentive, but not overly anything, just right. Oh! & Alex tossed in the puffed pastry dessert, just because I chose the tarts over my wife’s incling… we’ll be back, the next time we want to fine dine… this will be a special occassion place for us… Highly Recommend it.

Had dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Thought we'd try something different. Started with the French Onion and lobster bisque soup...both were delicious! We decided to get their rolls with the different types of spreads. Didn't care for the one with the mushrooms in it. Hubby had the steak and I ordered the misoyaki Chilean seabass. I really enjoyed my dish! Hubby thought the steak tasted good. We were given a complimentary dessert which I thought was sweet and it was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Ambiance was okay. We were sat by the window but on the side facing the parking lot. Would have been nice to have a better view and I did mention that it was our anniversary when I made the reservation but did not make a fuss when the hostess sat us. Plenty of parking. Good customer service. Probably a one and done for us as we're more of a steak place and not so much seafood kinda people.

Excellent food and service. Recommend making reservation. The escargot and Poêlée De La Mer were excellent. Made a great final meal in Honolulu

The Upstairs at Pier 38 was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a finer dining sea food restaurant. Upstairs offers that with a French influence. We sat at the chef's counter on a Thursday night. You sit next to a large window looking into the kitchen which gave some fun views of all the dishes coming out. The chef, Nathaniel, came out several times to speak with us and give us some extra food items including an oyster with beef tartare served on the half shell with the oyster being tempura fried. He also provided us later with a scallop over a cauliflower puree and a cilantro salsa. He did a much better job explaining the ingredients than I'm doing right now, but suffice it to say that both dishes were excellent flavorful dishes. My spouse ordered the bone in pork chop with herbed goat cheese. The dish was very savory. You can't go wrong with the pork chop. I had the crusted ahi tuna. It was not as savory, but was definitely a more complex dish. It was also excellent. We also had the French onion soup. I'm not sure how they kept some of the bread crispy even in the soup, but it was very good. The bartenders and other servers helped to keep our drinks filled. Loaf, (hope I'm spelling that right) our server, was a pleasure to speak with and very knowledgeable of the menu. We were very impressed with the service, atmosphere, and food. If you're looking for a finer dining experience in Oahu, check out the Upstairs at Pier 38.

Really great quality drinks, food and service. I highly recommend this restaurant. It was recommended to me by my colleagues who are local and I fully understand why it is so highly rated. I had the misso bass, pear salad and a cocktail with egg whites. I have variations of this combo often and can honestly say this restaurant blew it out of the park! They provided nice twists on classic dishes. Parking was easy.

Food is delicious! The scallop pappardelle was delectable! And braised short rib huge! And fork tender. Salmon lollipops I probably could make a better dish😜 but everything cooked just right with balanced seasoning and not over salted. Although pricey for what you get compared to higher excellent places in Vancouver BC or other places in the mainland but I’d return to try other dishes but not as often as I would many places in BC!

So very disappointed. I love the regular Nicos and thought this would be an upscale version. Instead it is this odd French food, seafood place which does not really work out. You can only get the drinks they make and for example could not get a Mai Tai or they ran out of olives for a Martini. The food was both mediocre and odd. They had these items none of which were appealing. Echoing the comments on here my wide ordered medium steak and it came rare. The other dishes were mediocre. The brie appetizer was odd and soupy. Desert, a cheesecake was small and dry. Service slow. It's odd that this deviated so much from Nicos but would not go again.
