About PESCA Waikiki Beach - steak house in Honolulu, Hawaii

Customer Review Summary

PESCA Waikiki Beach offers a mixed dining experience, with standout customer service highlighted by attentive and friendly staff like Alfred and Hap. Many reviews praised the quality of the seafood, with dishes like the Opakapaka fish receiving high marks for flavor and freshness. However, seating arrangements and initial impressions were a common concern, as some guests experienced being placed in less desirable spots, affecting their overall enjoyment. While some diners appreciated the ambiance and views, others felt the prices were high relative to their experience. The restaurant’s concept of selecting seafood from a display was well-regarded, but some noted limited options and occasional service mishaps. Overall, PESCA is recommended for its fresh seafood and attentive service, though experiences may vary based on seating and staff interaction.

Thanks to Alfred our wonderful server, he made our first experience at Pesca great. Super kind, helpful, and informative with the menu options. My mom asked if they had any sauce similar to Thai curry for her crab, to her surprise he brought exactly what she was looking for! Not sure if that was even on the menu, but very delicious. My mom was very upset that upon entering with a reservation, we were seated all the way in the back of the restaurant in a pretty cold corner, mind you it wasn’t that busy and apparently the manager moved our table because of “other” reservations. Strange. However, Alfred could tell my mom was upset and insisted that he could move us to a different table or whatever it takes to make her/us comfortable. Also thanks to Jeff, again super kind and helpful. Honestly without the servers we had I would’ve gave a lower review based on the first impression of the seating choice given to us, but the amount of genuine concern and consideration of our server is what gave this experience 5 stars. Thank you Alfred!

We had a lovely time eating amazing seafood here! The mash potatoes were amazingly garlicky and the Brussels sprouts were grilled al dente. We got a whole fish. The only thing that would have made it better was more sauce (there was only a half lemon for the 4 lb fish and a tablespoon of capers). Luckily we were too full to finish it, so we didn’t have to worry! The desserts were great. Devin made sure we had everything we needed or anticipated our needs! So glad we’re could celebrate a big anniversary here!

Shoved in a corner near the service area, with no real views of anything, sadly the food and service did nothing to make up for it. The food wasn’t anything to write home about. But, it was the toughest lobster we’ve ever had! And, we had so many servers we really had no idea who was actually looking after us. The only thing that met our expectations was the cost: overpriced.

Concept restaurant where you pick the seafood you want to eat from a display where they are on ice. Very limited selection when we were there - but a HUGE wine selection, well curated. Service was superb, at least from an attitude perspective. They forgot to bring an appetizer, until we reminded them, and one of our seafood selections came out quite late due to "an unfortunate event in the kitchen." But, we ordered family style and our other two orders (crab, and a pasta that supposedly had seafood in it) held us over. Our server was very personable and polite, and all of the table service was attentive, with the exception of the delayed app. The food was delicious though - well prepared and presented, good proportions and the server was very good at reading the table for serving sizes and recommendations in selecting the types of seafood and the weight. You pay by the pound for the fresh seafood selections. I'll caveat that my overall rating was based on a single visit, and I would expect that this restaurant, for the price and concept, was just having a bad night right in the middle of peak season on New Year's Eve. I would definitely give them another chance, but the experience was what it was.

Incredible. WOW! Loved every minute here. Food was delish and so fresh, the staff were wonderful, attentive and very informative from the moment we walked in to the venue to the moment we left. I loved how the host asked if we would like our change, this made such a difference compared to other restaurants where tips were demanded/expected. Of course we left a nice tip but never have I been asked if I’d like my change. I was blown away as this small detail made me feel like a valued customer here and I thoroughly enjoyed that there was a huge emphasis on customer service. Well done guys! Each and every one of you deserve a medal for your hard work and effortless kind natures that you all have. Highly recommend. The view is divine as well.

Food was pretty good overall. Nothing spectacular. Portions are on the smaller side. The view is great and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Another positive is all day happy hour food and drinks. I like that it's located inside of the hotel with a view of the beach. One thing I didn't like was that the bottles at the bar block the window view. Overall good experience.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pesca, and I can't recommend it enough! The beautiful views alone make it a must-visit, but the experience goes far beyond that. Our waitress, Hap, was simply amazing. She took the time to show us the frozen fish on display and shared her knowledge about each variety, explaining how they are prepared. It was such a unique and informative experience! The seafood is incredibly fresh, and the happy hour is unbeatable—classic cocktails for only $10! Daniel, the bartender, was attentive and friendly, making sure our drinks were always topped off. I highly recommend the seafood salad; the shrimp are huge and of outstanding quality! For the main course, I indulged in the Opakapaka fish with clams and garlic juice, which was nothing short of incredible. The staff made me feel like a princess, with their exceptional attention to detail and care. Yusuke, the manager, even came over to check in on us and ensure we were enjoying our meal. Overall, I love, love, love this restaurant! If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience with great food, beautiful views, and an attentive staff, Pesca is the place to be!

So I conducted a test @ this very upscale restaurant I wanted to see if we were treated different for dressing casual and let me tell you they took us to the back corner so we could not be seen by other dinners in fact they walked 2 couples ahead of us as our table was Prepped wink wink all tables were already set food was good had much better, but was good I got a 3.5lb Lobster we spent almost 400$ on 2 dinners for 3 people would I say it’s worth the price for the experience nope move on unless your dressed right our first experience here was completely different when we were dressed for it. To me a good restaurant treats everyone the same regardless of there dress attire of how they conduct them selfs. Would I return after this prob not we travel 280 days a yrs I been all around the US. Not impressed pic are of our dishes
