This restaurant surprised me with how tasty the dishes are, highly recommend trying something new each time you go because everything is delicious. Complimentary naan bread with peanut sauce and pickled vegetables. Parking is hard to find, but there is a parking garage just a short walk away. Service is top notch. Kristy was amazing, we want her to serve for us every time we go. The evening/nighttime vibes were very upscale and modern.

At Chef Chai, our recent dinner was a delightful culinary adventure. We started with the signature combination appetizer platter, a generous spread that wowed us with fresh ahi tartar, gravlax salmon roulade, and decadent foie gras mousse. Each bite was a celebration of flavors! Pairing perfectly with our meal, the Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis was a refreshing choice. For the main course, we savored the miso Chilean sea bass, a masterpiece served with pickled vegetables and rich coconut milk ginger brown rice. The highlight was the pan-seared Hokkaido scallop in lobster reduction atop creamy truffle risotto—pure indulgence. Service was attentive and warm, making Chef Chai a must-visit. We left with full bellies and happy hearts!

We arrive early and we have the chef sample menu the duck tacos, Salmon, and squash soup were really good I did not enjoy the shrimp deep fried, beef tenderloin was really good and the combination with the mushrooms was tasty. Everything had nice presentation.

A week in Waikiki and this was one of the food highlights. A little away from downtown but worth the 10 min ride. Very thoughtful , well executed menu. The signature dishes were very pleasing to both eye and palate. Appetizers were good and varied. We tried buratta which was well presented and full of flavor. The balsamic pearls were a really nice addition and finished the dish nicely. Crab cakes were solid as well. We didn't order signature tiger prawn appetizer but it seems every other table did so it must be good!! Mains were really good. Miso sea bass was well portioned and the miso glaze didn't overwhelm. Had the salmon and it was beautifully done!! Perfect seasoning and presentation. Lastly had the steak and again perfectly cooked and plate was beautiful. Additional side of coconut curry brown rice is not too be missed either. Dessert of Coconut cake with Tahitian vanilla sauce was also a winner! Nothing left of anything to take home. Only comment is the complementary chicken satay was a bit incongruent. The chicken was ok, however the peanut sauce was top notch and Naan was a great addition. Would definitely go back.

The experience in a whole was amazing! It was the best part of my day, great way to end my Birthday celebration. All the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The desert was complimentary for my birthday and the wine was recommended, after explaining what I was interested in having, and turned out to be the perfect find. I had the Oxtail as my main course and it was so amazing! I honestly get it on every yearly visit from another subsidiary location but chose here this one time due to the other location discontinuing the dish. It was even better (tasted just as great, but larger portion) than I remember from previous years. From the starter tray there was a peanut sauce I will return specifically for next year! Love it!

We had a deeply disappointing fine dining experience on New Year’s Eve. The service was extremely slow—everything from the appetizers to dessert arrived late. What should have been a celebratory evening turned into a nearly 3-hour ordeal for a simple three-course meal. For the premium price, the experience was far from acceptable. While the appetizers were decent, the main course lacked flavor, and the desserts were equally unimpressive. For a restaurant that charges such high prices, the quality of both the food and service should be significantly better.

Took my wife here to celebrate her 40th birthday and Chef Chai did not disappoint. First off, the complimentary chicken satay with peanut sauce, cucumbers, and pita bread was 🔥. I love peanut sauce and this stuff was so good I wanted to eat it with a spoon. Secondly, we ordered the risotto cakes as an appetizer. The cakes were delicious and the red sauce was delectable. For our main course, my wife got the king salmon with pineapple relish and I got the crispy whole fresh catch with chili ginger sauce. I can't describe how tasty the chili ginger sauce was and the crispy fresh fish was the best fish I've ever had. This place is a great establishment and we received tremendous service along with the great food.
