Customer Review Summary
Tokyo Steak is a Japanese-style steakhouse specializing in steak, sushi, sashimi, and grilled shrimp. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food is prepared in front of diners, contributing to an enjoyable experience. However, some reviews mention issues with food seasoning, small portion sizes, and inconsistent cooking methods resulting in cold dishes. Service is generally praised, with friendly and attentive waitstaff. The restaurant's temperature and availability of menu items have been points of concern for some patrons. It is a nice Japanese-style steakhouse. The main specialty of this restaurant, as you guessed it from the name, is steak. Of course, without steak, they serve other meals, such as sushi and sashimi, and even grilled shrimp. My visit to this establishment was in June of 2023, when I was visiting my relatives in High Desert. I decided to visit this restaurant, and have my dinner in this establishment. Oh boy, I was not disappointed. Usually, the place is packed. That day, they had available seats, to dine-in. The meals were delicious, and they were prepared in front of my eyes, the main meals, that is. The waitress was quick, helpful, and attentive. The atmosphere, too, was neat and welcoming. Of course, it could get pricey. If my memory serves me well, I had spent around $80.00 with the tip. So, if anyone wants to eat well in this restaurant, I would recommend to visit only if there are discretionary funds available. Otherwise, I would recommend to order light meals. Still, this is a worthy restaurant to visit in the High Desert!

Food was not seasoned well. No yum yum sauce to go with your meal. Soda tasted weird unfiltered water. Weird fan noise loud humming while dining. Food was cooked separately instead of together leaving us with cold food by the time it was done cooking. Waitress very friendly and attentive. Food here was discouraging. Shrimp tempura very small portions could have been seasoned better. Rice was not good clumps of uncooked rice was mixed in.

Went for lunch today, March 6 2025. First time. was about 42° outside and it felt much cooler inside the restaurant. Restaurant did not put heat on even other customers were complaining. Could not enjoy the meal whatsoever disappointment. I also asked about their sushi and they said their sushi cook prepper was on vacation. Considering the price of the meal, it’s not McDonald’s…. Keeping the place at a decent temperature and having items available was a massive disappointment. If the place was 65-70. I would not be so negative about this place.

Cooking show and accuracy of cooking was great. Ingredients were quality. All in all good bang for your buck.

I believe this is the only Japanese restaurant with a teppan table in the high desert. We have always enjoyed the little show and the food is very good! The decor is authentic inside which adds to the experience.

Super expensive. I wouldn’t bring more than 2 people if you don’t want to pay almost 300. Chef was the only good thing ! No diss on him. But I got food poisoning from here. Now I’m super sick ! Food poisoning that costed $270 & the drinks were really watery. The waitresses also tip themselves $22 so check before u tip them again.

Great Place to enjoy with the family. It's a show when they are cooking. And it is just on loving interaction with you're kids. My children are very picky eaters But they were pleased with the cooking show. And the food it was actually such a delicious meal from the soup. The salad the meat was cooked on point. The rise was delicious. Everything was just great. Thank you for this business in the high desert. It is really hard sometimes to just drive down the hill. Just to find a good place to eat. It is one of these restaurants. Where you come back over and over again, I definitely encourage you to come and try them out. They have different options. Keep friendly handicap friendly. It is a family environment.
