Both the food and atmosphere of the San Franciscan is worth a trip. It is known for the prime rib for good reason. I ordered the medium sized cut and it was a perfect sized meal. Service was efficient and friendly. Good food and solid service, complemented the old school atmosphere. This is not a new restaurant trying to artificially replicate the cool atmosphere of the past. It is a legitimate old school restaurant that knew how to do it in the day and has nurtured it ever since. The San Franciscan is the perfect combination good food, great service and a legitimate old school steakhouse.

The San Franciscan was a pleasant surprise. Hubby and I celebrated our anniversary here. We came as recommended by more than one friend who. The prime rib was cooked very well and enough for more than one meal. The grilled shrimp also was delicious and served with a salad and baked potato. The service was very good - attentive and polite. We will come back and maybe order different items. There seemed to be much to choose from that piqued our interest.

My husband and I came here after seeing Annie the South Bay foodie influencer recommend it. It’s definitely old school and I love that vibe. The food was okay… Sourdough bread isn’t real sourdough. My husband got the rib eye and it didn’t seem like a great cut of meat. It was like a tough ol’ boot he said lol. I had the shrimp which was nice. It was packed and people seem to love it so maybe we ordered wrong. I believe prime rib is what they are known for.

I've passed this place for decades. Decided to take a friend there for his birthday. We were not disappointed. It was busy for a Monday evening so that should tall you something. Seating was fast and service was awesome. we ordered the Franciscan cut of prime rib. Dinner included a great side salad, choice of potato, and a delicious sourdough round on the table. We will definitely be back. Great service and delicious food is the cornerstone of the San Franciscan. If you want great prime rib, this is the place!!

A local favorite! The restaurant has an old school vibe, nothing fancy. Great food and good prices. Live band and karaoke on certain nights. Variety of items on the menu: appetizers, pastas, salads, chicken, seafood, pork chop and steaks but most come here for their specialty - PRIME RIB! Their prime rib is delicious! Medium rare is the way to go. Available in 3 different cuts: House Special (1/2 lb), Franciscan Cut (3/4 lb) and Diamond Jim (19 oz) and is served with your choice of soup or salad and side (baked potato, steak fries, fresh vegetables or rice). For appetizers, I recommend the breaded clam strips, battered green beans and sautéed mushrooms. The complimentary sourdough bread is good. Friendly service and there is plenty of parking. Give this place a try when you're in the area.

One of the best places in LA 😎 Cannot have another rib other than the one you tried. Order 1/2 oz for one person but it's really enough size for me to fill up the stomach and 150% satisfied. The homemade Thousand Island dressing with salad was awesome. I'd like to purchase it to bring back home. We walked in on the day without reservation at 8pm on Friday night and managed to get the table after 30mins.

We've been to this restaurant many times over the years. If you want the best Prime Rib, this is your to go place! I've had their other steaks which were simply the best. The Franciscan staff are great, never had any bad experiences there. This place is a combination of a bar and restaurant and a little dated, but I'm there for the prime rib. The price and value is pretty good.
