Customer Review Summary
The reviews for Izzy's on the Peninsula are mixed. One diner had a disappointing experience with a burger that had too many caramelized onions and lacked cheese flavor. However, others enjoyed dishes like mussels, French dip sliders, and a very good 22oz bone-in ribeye. Service was consistently praised for being friendly and efficient, and the restaurant's remodel received positive feedback. Some dishes like the Deviled Eggs and Drunken Prawns were noted as flavorful, while sides like Izzy’s Potatoes and creamed spinach were well-received. The outdoor dining option and overall ambiance were appreciated, yet there were complaints about seating arrangements and air conditioning. Overall, the food has improved, but experiences varied significantly among diners, with some recommending other venues for better value.

Typically, I have a fantastic meal at Izzy's. Not so much this time. I've been craving a burger, so I decided to order one. It was not good. Not at all. I opted for the caramelized onions, but there were too much on the burger. The flavor and the texture of the burger was also disappointing. I ordered extra cheese and could barely tell there was cheese on there at all. In fact, my sister got a cheeseburger also without the extra cheese, and she couldn't tell she had ANY cheese. Others at the table had mussels, which they liked very much. Also the French dip sliders which they also enjoyed. I wish I had gone with my first choice and tried the chicken piccata. I never noticed that on their menu before, and it being a steakhouse, I wasn't sure how it would be. I did like the fact that they serve Coca-Cola from a small glass bottle, so no fllat bar coke. The bread was okay, I seem to remember it being better in the past. Definitely need slightly bigger portions of the butter and the oil. Very tiny ramekins, and there were five of us. The service was very, very good. Very friendly and efficient staff. Love the remodel too. The restaurant looks lovely. Miss the apples.

A visit to the new IZZY’S in Redwood City for a Mother’s Day. My first time going to IZZY’S in general so I had no expectations. Moms chose the location tho so I knew it was good at worst. We sat outside due to the weather being great that day think it was a good choice. For starters we had the Deviled eggs and Drunken Prawns. Deviled Eggs: not bad at all, have never had a fried deviled egg before, the texture was different. An abundance of flavors, I particularly liked the pickled radishes as a touch of flavor. Drunken Prawns: jumbo prawns in a sauce with some kind of breaded element under the shrimp soaked in the sauce. Be sure to order extra bread to get that sauce! Mushroom Spaghetti: fresh hand roll tasting noodles with grilled mushrooms topped with some Parmesan cheese. Yum 22oz Bone-In Ribeye: shared amongst three people I would say this was a very good steak. I saw some other steaks being deliver to other tables and those looked good to but thinking economical as well as us not being huge meat eaters the rib eye was the rite choice. Sides: Izzy’s Potatoes(awesomeness), Cream Spinach(very good), Broccolini

The food has improved along with the rest of the place. Moist salmon and good drinks. Loved the salad with anchovies 😋 excellent sourdough bread, though the bread is not free 🤷🏻♂️

Amazing, incredible steak house in San Carlos. The staff are always friendly, and you don't have to dress up if you don't want. The prime rib (The Gomez) is perfectly cooked, and the creamed spinach is to die for. Great cold the next day. I have had bites of the other steak offerings and they're all cooked to perfection. The french fries are also really really good. The drink and cocktail menu is really good too, lots of different options. And the key lime pie is great.

Food was delicious! Went there for fathers day for the first time. I saw that it was remodeled and looks very elegant. Parking was great. Hate going to places that have no parking. Outside dining looked great.

Wow!!! How this place has changed. We have all ways loved Izzy’s old fashion steak house. But after spending 14 years in Portland we are back home now, we went back in for happy hour and to our surprise it had a complete renovation. It’s now light, airy and modern. The food did not disappoint at all. And you just can’t pass up on the San Francisco sourdough warmed to perfection with homemade butter.

We came for dinner with our puppy in a stroller. We were given the option of indoor or outdoor dining. We chose to sit outside. Izzy’s management and staff were exceptional and went above and beyond and set up our table and 3 heaters so we’d be warm dining on a cold January evening. The food was great and the service was outstanding. Izzy’s will definitely be our regular dining spot.

Great space but they put my 16 year old daughter in the bar area dinning after I requested they not do so. Also the air conditioner system was blowing above the table making us cool and we had to put on sweaters because they couldn't control the system. 🥶 Chocolate cake was nice but the steaks were on the smaller side. This restaurant is expensive and I would choose another venue like Sundance Steakhouse in Palo Alto.
