Richly-furnished steakhouse inside the Mission Inn serving USDA Prime cuts, fresh seafood & soufflé.

Customer Review Summary

Duane's Prime Steaks & Seafood offers a fine dining experience with a beautiful and elegant atmosphere. The service is generally attentive, though there have been instances of delayed service after drink orders. The food quality is praised, particularly the rib eye steak and filet, though some dishes like the organic chicken have received criticism for being overpriced. Many reviewers found the steak dishes to be well-cooked, but some felt the pricing was excessive, with a filet priced at $75 not seen as justifiable by all. Cocktails and appetizers received positive feedback, although there were some concerns about portion sizes and value for money. The ambiance is considered enjoyable, especially with the historical decor. Guests are advised to make reservations, and to be aware of the dress code. Some visitors have experienced disappointment with consistency, particularly on repeat visits, highlighting issues like overcooked steaks and slow service. Overall, Duane’s is recommended for those willing to spend, but experiences can vary significantly.

Capped off a great day at the Mission Inn with a late night dinner at Duane’s. We had a late lunch at the Mission Inn restaurant and enjoyed the bar, decor and hotel long enough to get hungry again. We put our names on the wait list and waited until almost 9pm. Very few guests left and not sure all the staff that remained appreciated the late seating, but were pleasant enough. You could tell it was a long day/evening for most, but was understandable. Had a great rib eye steak. One of the best I’ve ever had, which was a surprise based on reviews, but I know what I like and it was great. The lobster tail add on was just ok and thought the Caesar salad was overpriced but good. Definitely enough food for two as we had leftovers for the next day. Definitely worth a try if in the neighborhood. Almost an hour drive for us, so have to limit to holidays or when passing through, but really capped off a great day/night at the Mission Inn.

FINE dining at its best. Reservations required. Dress Code. Does have a bar and lobby area to enjoy cocktails before dining. Beautiful ans elegant atmosphere. Supreme service. Well worth the money. Nothing on the dining menu is a bad choice. Partial validation for valet parking.

Super dissapointed in the organic chicken plate that was $50 for a chicken wing and 2 carrots. Everyone else that the table had steak which looked good but not eating red meat is really a mistake at this restaurant.

Had dinner here with a group of six. To say this place is pricey is an understatement but you do get value for your money. Overall the servers were nice and attentive though we found after placing our drink orders, they vanished for quite some time though we were ready to order apps and entrees. Our cocktails were nice and priced for what you'd expect for a place like this. I was quite fond of the Pain Killer. For apps, we ordered steak tips, crab cake and escargot. The steak and escargot was easy to share but we only got 1 large crab cake so we had to split it ourselves. Overall it all taste good. For my entree I ordered the Filet with peppercorn sauce with mashed potatoes on the side. At $75, the filet is one of the most expensive I've had especially for 8oz. I was a little thrown off with the side of potatoes as the server mentioned it as if it were included rather than an add on. As for taste, I would say the Filet was tasty and well made. It was tender, juicy with a decent char. The peppercorn sauce was lacking the pow factor I like in peppercorn. It was a bit on the citrusy side. Overall a good filet but hardly worth the $75 price tag. Its probably a good deal at $50. The mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty. Add a little pepper on top and they were a dream. Definitely think its a sharable portion. We didnt get dessert but the selection seemed solid. Thr atmosphere of the resteraunt was quite good. If you get a good seat, you can enjoy murals from the original sections of the inn. I would recommend trying Duane's if you have the budget and happen to be in the area.

Great experience here last night. I used to manage restaurants and this was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. My wife and I shared the burrata, and then the ribeye with scallops. Everything was cooked to perfection. Perfect service. Wonderful ambiance. 10/10 would go again. Make sure you get a reservation!

Excellent ambiance, good food and good drinks. Great at Christmas time. I had the rack of lamb and lobster. Very good! UPDATE 5/30/24 Went there for dinner again because of our great experience the first time. What a disappointment. The lobster bisque was really fishy and we sent them all back. The food took about 45 minutes to hit table from the time we ordered it. Three of us ordered steaks and two of them were overcooked. We sat there for so long we didn’t even bother with dessert. Really upset with a dinner of that quality when spending top dollar. We won’t return.

Food and service were excellent! We had an issue with the wine bottle we ordered. Ordered a 2020 from the wine list and were given a 2022. Understand menu says ‘vintage subject to change’. Although we were asked to pay for something we didn’t receive. A 2 year difference on a $450 bottle is substantial and should have resulted in a price change. Bait and switch tactics in my opinion. Server was ultimately great and sought a solution for us. Beyond disappointed that the “manager” couldn’t come to our table to discuss the issue. We waited nearly 20 minutes for this manager never to arrive. Beyond unprofessional for the manager to ignore us intentionally! Having an on-site sommelier could really help this place!

I first came here a month ago and to my wife's request, we returned for her birthday. This place is top notch! The quality food, ambience and service were amazing. Dean and Dirk go all the way to make each guest feel special. My wife was shocked that Dean remembered her order. Their Lamb Chops are the biggest around.
