About Las Islas Marias Ontario - steak house in Ontario, California

Customer Review Summary

The food at Las Islas Marias Ontario receives high praise for being delicious, particularly seafood dishes like aguachiles and momia shrimp. Many customers appreciated attentive service and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere, though some found the music excessively loud. However, there are significant complaints regarding inconsistent service, as delays in food and drinks were noted, even when the restaurant was not busy. The fish ceviche received criticism for being poorly prepared and overpriced, lacking essential ingredients. Some guests expressed disappointment over specific dishes being bland and lacking flavor, with a suggestion that other local restaurants offer better quality. Overall, while many enjoyed their meals and considered it a hidden gem, others faced service issues that detracted from the experience.

I can only comment on the fish ceviche to go. It left a lot to desire and mind you I have been to Nayarit and know that each state has its own way of preparing seafood. Seems like they put fish in a grinder, which sounds silly but everything prep by hand taste better. It was missing tomatoes and the lady over the phone argued it had, I must be blind then. Maybe other plates are better. It was also overpriced compared to other spots in IE with better quality.

The food was delicious, cold beer, & the music was nice & loud… my favorite. We ordered aguachiles and chicharrón de pescado, tacos de asada & langostinos! everything was delicious 🤤

Came to this place wanting some fresh seafood. Disappointed, the place wasn't even packed for the drinks and food to be delayed to come out and take so long. Waitresses are just lalagagging instead of paying attention to their tables. Music Unnecessary loud when the crowd doesn't suit the vibes, your tone deaf by the time you leave. Worst service ever. Food mediocre. Atmosphere Can't really explain it with lights changing colors every second while you eat.

We order a Levanta Muertos Cocktail and was VERY PLAIN, no flavor, no chop chile. We try to fix it with ketchup and hot sauce but nothing works. Same thing with the shrimp and cheese empanadas. NO FLAVOR. VERY DISAPPOINTED, NOT COMING BACK . LIBRA POR LIBRA RESTAURANT IS WAAAY BETTER

Chefs kiss to the food! Music was probably too loud (couldn't talk across the table) atmosphere was good overall for great micheladas and delicious mariscos.

We enjoyed our time there. This place is like a hidden gem, it's kind of hiding on a side street, creating a more intimate environment once you "find" it. The service was great, the food was too, except some of it was too rich for my taste. I would recommend trying it. I liked the atmosphere. It makes you feel like you've just ended México for a short vacation.

The place is fairly large but after had made a reservation, there was no one to meet us at the hostess' booth. Beign that it was our first time, we were left dumbfounded at the entrance with welcoming guidance. When we finally sat down, our food took what seemed for ever to arrive. Although our group ordered together, half of the group got the order way before us. The other half had to wait and wonder what was going on. The banda speakers are waaaaay too loud and they only have 2 bathroom stalls for such a large place. The manager was super nice and apologized for the subpar service. He seemed genuinely concerned and interested in our feedback. The main reason I I gave this place 3 stars and not less is because THEIR FOOD IS GOOD! The menu is mostly mariscos (seafood) with one carne asada plate. The momia shrimp were so flavorful and the bacon was crispy enough. Their mojara al mojo de ajo was full of good flavors! I really did enjoy their food. It really was good. I hope they work a little on their place because this place has HUGE potential.
