This place (and the main restaurant just down the road) was highly recommended to us by an East Bay native and it really delivers! The mac and cheese is *excellent* - pasta in a roux-based cheese sauce with breadcrumbs on top! The garlic mac and cheese is the way to go. On top of it all, our counter guy Alfred was so great. It took a little while for our take out order to be ready and talking to him was just a good hang. I gave 5 stars for atmosphere just for him

I ordered here before the autumn lights festival at Lake Merritt to show my mom an Oakland classic Mac & Cheese spot, as she was visiting from out of town. We ordered a BBQ Mac and a chicken pot pie Mac and walked there from my place. When we arrived, I spoke to the waitstaff about what we were up to for the night, and how we were commuting to the festival by bus. The waitstaff had said that there were little cookies that had been added to our bag because it was around Halloween, which was a very sweet touch, and then he also said since my mom was visiting, that we had to try one of the lemonades they sell so we can enjoy our meal at the festival. I bought one, and since they were closing soon, he gave us another one on the house. We went to the festival and enjoyed our meal under all the lights with such warm hearts and happy stomachs. With this, I go back time and time again because I have such fond memories of someone caring about us during a short interaction at a to-go based restaurant. It really is the little interactions that make someone remember a place, and want to go back and suggest a place to every friend! Beyond this, I’ve ordered here for delivery endless times. It helped me as a comfort food through neurosurgery, nursing school, and the pandemic. Oddly enough, I’ve never eaten there in person! I look forward to a day that I can experience the restaurant itself! I don’t know if there is anything on the menu I cannot recommend. My friends and I have tried it all! #goldenbirthday

Absolutely loved their jalepeno popper mac and cheese! They also do catering orders with a half bake option so you can bake it at home later. You’re missing out if you havent tried this place!

Leilani was the most incredible server I've ever had. Homeroom as always is in a league of its own and when you've had it you can't stop going back. I live 4 hours away and never fail to stop when I'm even vaguely close by. That being said after coming to homeroom for over a decade Leilani was the most memorable and inviting person who I've met at homeroom and I hope you guys promote her. Made my day thank you!

There is not enough! Not enough locations closer to my house or my work. They are too popular. Just more please. Obviously the one star is so I don't have to stand in line to get the most delicious mac and cheese around. #GoldenBirthday

Best Mac n cheese place! They do have a seasonal menu, which is exciting at times! Wished the Hawaiian Mac was a main staple! Their pizza Mac, chicken pot pie Mac, and so on are all great! Hope to see more creative macs soon because I keep seeing almost the same Mac each season without anything new🥺but still they're all great!

My only problem with this place is the food is too dang good, and if I ate here as much as I want I'd have to do more cardio than Sha-Carri Richardson. Do yourself a favor and check out their Buffalo Chicken Mac... or, y'know, don't, and live a joyless life painted in desaturated shades of taupe. There isn't much parking here, but the service is quick, the counter folk are friendly, and orders are usually ready in less time than it estimates online. Make this place a staple.
