Cafe la fongs is definitely a must try, although you cannot sit down to eat , it is a hearty meal that combines American food with Asian fusion it’s savory and delicious with plenty of rice to spare . Came in the morning waited outside because she told me to wait 20 minutes while I was waiting there were people inside already eating, so I waited 20 minutes then called and she told me I need to wait another 15 and I told her I've already been waiting 20 while its other customers inside eating I just end up telling her never mind I left but I don't like waiting so long especially while technically the business is open I don't know what kind of agreement she had with those customers inside but it should have been open to me as well I feel like I had to be someone special to eat

Friendly staff and fast service. I ordered the fried pork chops with scrambled eggs, and english muffin. FYI they’ve been serving up delicious home style breakfast since 1981- FYI Cash Only PS check out their combo breakfast fried rice or chow mein

This was the place where East Oakland residents could gather and meet other people until they closed their lobby. Today I ordered the Kitchen Sink It was mostly all rice for $15. Way overpriced

Homemade food, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I must share with you that the coffee is terrible and the home fries could have had more flavor. This restaurant is cash only.

I'd give this place ten stars if I could. The taste and quality of this mom and pop's cuisine is fantastic; it provides exactly what home cooked southern combined with Asian food should give! This is unquestionably a hidden gem. I wholeheartedly suggest this establishment. I couldn't even take a picture of the breakfast /Lunch since it looked so good, also everything arrived hot and fresh. There was not a single entree that was cold.

Had to wait awhile for getting the food even if it was ordered online and ready. They won't call your name, and you have to wait outside. So far the food is good. Gave them the benefit of the doubt because they were understaffed today.
