Customer Review Summary

Service is generally praised as excellent and friendly. However, the food quality is inconsistent, with many reviewers noting issues like chewy, fatty ribs, undercooked meats, and overly salty dishes. Collard greens and potato salad received negative feedback, while macaroni and cheese was often a highlight. Some diners appreciated the atmosphere and certain menu items like the Sassy Sistah beer. Notably, multiple customers expressed disappointment with long wait times and poor customer service experiences. Overall, while some find it to be great Southern BBQ, others have had significantly negative experiences, leading to mixed reviews.

Service excellent. Ribs chewy with a lot of fat. Collards greens mushy, Potato salad not good. Macaroni and cheese 🧀 good. Carmel cake was ok too. I Ended up throwing everything else away. I am from Atlanta been trying to find a good spot. But this was not it food wise. Atmosphere great and the employees wonderful.

Came in on lovers day.. Valentine’s… Food was under cooked, ribs were straight up pink , there was more fat than meat on the ribs 😩 and the chicken was so tasteless I was shocked I mean no taste at all . I did enjoy the Mac n cheese and collards greens. On top of it, our cornbread was left out of the order 😤and the lady taking our order said it came with the order 😡 - we were about to order a side of them. I was totally disappointed with this place and I doubt if I’ll return! Chocolate cake was nasty. O yea we, paid almost $70 for this mess

The meats were tender, but I am not a big fan of the BBQ sauce. It is sweet which is an abomination with meat. I asked for the spiciest sauce possible, but it still was not spicy enough. And sweet. I wish they would have an option of no sauce, just meat, and a bottle of Sriracha or something like that.

Some of the best Southern Style BBQ in the Bay Area! And that’s coming from someone who lived in Nashville for almost 20 years! The ribs were tender and flavorful. Mac n cheese was excellent. Their Sassy Sistah beer compliments the food perfectly!

An Oakland establishment, best bbq in the area. The ribs are tender and the sides so good. Went for my grandma’s birthday, she loves the food here. Always leave full and happy.

The food was good, the entertainment is usually great and the drinks are on hit!!! We've been coming here for years, they don't usually disappoint. Had a great time at the Tribute to Frankie Beverly 🥲

We had a take out order for two rib dinners. The green beans are very mushy and salty. The ribs, part tender and mostly overcooked. They are also simmered in a very salty sauce as well. After dinner, I still feel my palette is saturated with salt. I’d suggest not to overcook beans and ribs, and use much less salt for better results. The service was expeditious and friendly.

Sat for 1 hour and 10 minutes waiting for food. While sitting we watched multiple table who arrived after us, larger and smaller parties eat their food. I spoke to the short heavyset black women who was very much unprofessional and lacked any level of customer service, offered no level of empathy or solutions. We left after being in the establishment since 5:10 at 6:50. Yes it was the Black ahoy Parade and it would not have been and issue had we not counted 6 tables who arrived after us and ordered after us eating their food. A good manager would’ve seen back to the kitchen to find out what exactly was going on, and offered a solution or given a definitive time table not tell me “we got three rooms fulls of people so I don’t know what to tell you”. Zero stars we left without the dinner we had been waiting on.
