I really don’t understand how this place is still in business. The food was disgusting, and the straw smelled like something—well, let's just say it wasn’t pleasant. I truly don’t get it. I also want to add that the food tasted horrible. It makes no sense to me how something could taste that bad. The cup I had my drink in smelled awful, like a stinky rag or something. On top of that, the burger—oh my God—there was something gooey coming out of the meat. We paid for our meal, and being a single dad, it’s not easy, so I just paid and left with my son. It was just nasty. This is one establishment I wish I had never stepped into.

Nice reasonably priced restaurant in Alameda next to Trader Joe's in the south Shore shopping complex. Based on recent experience , the food is actually well prepared here and tastes surprisingly good. We selected the from $28 package and got the fiesta lime chicken and a 6 ounce sirloin along with onion rings as the appetizer selection. The onion rings were great, crispy crunchy even when cold and not greasy. The fiesta lime chicken was grilled just right and wasn't dry. Taste wise, every thing was good. Nothing fancy or weird, just straightforward and good. Clientele is diverse, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Familes, multi-generational families,friends, and couples come here for an inexpensive meal or a beer and snacks. The background music is easy on the ears and lends well to conversation. Service is polite and friendly Park near the Kohls department store to avoid the mess in front of Safeway. If you're looking for a nice place to grab a nice meal without breaking your budget, Applebee's in Alameda is a solid choice

Had lunch there on Monday, and I asked a female server to split the bill into two. To my surprise, she didn’t provide me with a signature slip or a tip receipt to sign. When I asked her about tip, she said it wasn’t necessary and left. However, I found out my bank statement that a 15% tip was added to the bill. I truly appreciate the server’s hard work and am always happy to leave a tip. It’s just inappropriate that I don’t get clearly informed.

We never got two plates and an appetizer, after more than 45 minutes. We had to ask for a manager 🙄. The cheap food is not worth the inconvenience. I'm definitely looking for other options. I refuse to go through this again 😤

The service here is really bad. Every time I go here I do not get good service. Also my husband tips well because he is a waiter part time. So we had order 3 appetizers and 3 burgers with endless fries. The waitress forgot my son drink. Our burgers was not how we ordered them. No one came to take the empty plates off our table. Also we had the endless fries they never came back with the 2nd order of fries.

We're from Kauai, Hawaii and we don't have an Applebee's so we try to come here whenever we visit the mainland. The food is always good and tonight's service was exceptional.
