About Wine Ranch Grill and Cellars - steak house in Murrieta, California
Customer Review Summary
Wine Ranch Grill and Cellars is highly regarded for its dog-friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff, particularly praised is Devin. Customers enjoyed the dog menu and the overall ambiance, recommending it for brunch and light lunches. However, there are complaints about service delays, unhelpful staff, and issues with food quality, particularly concerning the happy hour menu, which was deemed deceptive and of poor value. Some dishes, like the bacon-wrapped dates and various burgers, received positive mentions, while others, like the fish and chips, were criticized for being undercooked or burnt. Overall, the restaurant appears clean and inviting, but it may need to improve service consistency and menu clarity.

Love this place! Had wine flights and brunch for Mother’s Day before but today I had my dog and it’s so dog friendly! The staff is amazing especially Devin! We talked dogs for a while because he had a minute. They have a dog menu and she met some amazing people! Highly recommend!

We stood at the front desk near a person working on a tablet and waited over 10 minutes when we asked this person to get someone to help us. Turned out she was the person but she was busy doing something to clear the tablet. I just wished she at least told us she sees us and will be with us soon. There were others behind us wanting to be seated too! So we got a table and some menus. We then waited for over 15 minutes until we flagged someone to get our wait person. So far, no service! Not a good sign. We finally put out orders and actually got some water. 30 minutes have gone by and no food. So far we have spent about an hour here with very little to show for it. We got our waitress's attention and asked how long til we got our food. It came about 5 minutes. I got the fish and chips and hubby got the turkey croissant sandwich. You can see the dishes in the pictures that the fish and chips looked a little on the dark side. I figured that should be okay unfortunately it was not. The outside tasted a little bitter, as in burnt, and the inside batter close to the fish was raw!!! I'm thinking the oil was too hot and the batter too thick. The only good news with this whole visit were two things, they took the fish and chips off the bill and the Cali Creamin' beer was very good. If you want to try this place, hubby said the turkey croissant sandwich was good. I don't recommend the fish and chips. Last thing, they have their parking lot so at least you can put your car some place.

Met up with friends for light lunch glass of wine and time together. Brussel sprouts were tasty, but the sauce was on the bottom?? Bacon wrapped dates were great. Those are worth the 💰 money. We should have received awesome service, but it didn’t happen.

DO NOT ORDER food off the happy hour menu! There is no discount… the only thing they reduce is portion size. For six dollars less, you’re getting a kids size burger, a quarter size chicken tender, and the hummus with pita bread is insultingly small. The happy hour food is not a bargain; it’s a kid’s menu. A lady sitting next to us recommended the happy hour chicken tenders. She Showed us with her fingers how thick the tenders were. So we ordered it. When The lady saw they were as thinly sliced as McDonald’s nuggets, she felt bad for recommending. The food at the restaurant is generally good, but the happy hour menu is an insult. Do not order food off the happy hour menu and think you are gonna get a deal. It’s just a smaller quantity and it’s deceptive. I do not know of any other restaurants that do this.I wish Ran would stop doing this.

Wonderful lunch here yesterday! The moment we walked in we were greeted by the friendly restaurant staff. Restaurant was very clean, inviting & our server was excellent and very knowledgeable. Food was amazing, had great flavor & presentation. Favorite spot in old town Murrieta.

I’ve driven by this restaurant on so many occasions and have always admired how appealing it looked from the outside, but have never stop to actually dine in. Mainly because I’m not a huge wine fine. I like sweater drinks that don’t cause my cheeks to pucker, but my husband came home for lunch and wanted to treat me and my youngest of 8 kids for lunch. The youngest is 2 by the way. Anyways, I was pleased to go out and have a mini date with my husband and I truly had wanted to visit and try it out, as I love to visit new establishments and find treasured places to be on my favorite list. With this adventure awaiting we went. I honestly love how it is set up. I love the outside tables and chairs with the fireplaces to create warmth and comfort for its customers. The inside is just as cute as the outside. We did come during lunch almost as they opened, so we did miss some of the lunch traffic I’m sure. The customer service was ok, not really eager or friendly, but it was modest. Nothing to write home about. I did find they had some drinks, but they were out of the mix, so that was kinda disappointing I kinda wanted a Bloody Mary, oh well. They had mimosas and sangria, but as I mentioned I’m not a huge wine or beer fan. Oh well! When we did get our food it was really good, which kinda made up for the drinks. I honestly loved the fries and they even put shredded Parmesan. I do have to say fries were definitely the highlight. I ordered the truffle burger medium rare and it was pretty good. It even had caramelized onions and truffle aioli, which wasn’t to bad. Of course the 2 year old had the chicken strips and fries which looked perfectly cooked, thank god. See a lot of restaurants make kids meals and burn it and then guess what they won’t eat it and who has to suffer the parents that paid for food quality and you know kids. If it doesn’t look right or smell right it’s all over. Husband ordered a blackened salmon burger, which he liked all except the mango salsa, or mango chutney or maybe it was a mango something or other. Anyways, all in all the experience was good. A little pricey for lunch. Mainly it’s dinner prices at everyone other restaurant, but still was good and I would go again to try something else.

We have been here a couple times. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Fires outside to try to keep you warm. It’s a barn looking place. Nice and clean. A wine theme in decor. Didn’t realize they were part of a wine maker until we saw two separate prices for food on the menu. One for wine club members and the other for non members. I had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp are very large and great flavored. The grits are plain with lots of butter. Too much butter for my taste and I would rather lean towards the spices on the shrimp. Wife had the jalapeños Mac and cheese and she liked it. Overall nice place, staff was great. Prices seemed a little on the high side but we will be back

The burgers are amazing and not over greased like other places. They have a great wine menu and a variety of local and foreign beers. Restrooms are clean and very presentable. The staff is very kind and polite and is attentive to your needs. The ambiance is just right for any occasion in the day; from a slow or energetic lunch to a nice romantic or intimate dinner.
