Customer Review Summary

Mori Teppan Grill is a hidden gem in LA, offering a solid teppanyaki experience. The food is generally well-cooked and portions are generous, although some reviewers noted a lack of seasoning and limited vegetable options. Prices are considered reasonable for the area, and the staff is attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. While some chefs may not provide an entertaining performance, others are engaging and make for a fun dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance could use some upgrades, particularly in the bathroom and flooring. We wanted teppanyaki on a recent trip to LA and stumbled onto Mori. After multiple attempts to call and no one answering we showed up around 7pm and were able to get seated on a fairly busy dinner seating. Our chef didn't put on much of a show, but I'm more interested in the good than the show. I had the NY and chicken, my wife the NY and shrimp. The food was cooked well and the amount of steak and chicken I got was way more than I could eat (although much appreciated given how many palaces are shrinking portions). I knocked off a star as the seasoning was lacking and the only veggies you get are onions and zucchini. We were pleasantly surprised with the prices, which for LA seemed like a steal.

When I say this place is a hidden gem, I can't emphasize that enough. An incredible experience with engaging, attentive staff that are enthusiastic to serve you. The chefs offer great entertainment and witty remarks that make it fun. Best restaurant I have experienced in years. Bravo

I have been regularly coming here for a couple last years and I love this place. I usually go for fillet mignon because it turns out to be so juicy and tender. My boyfriend gets fillet with sea food options. Scallop and lobster tail. I absolutely love their ginger dressing! Each time I promise myself that I’ll skip on a fried rice, by always end up eating it, because it is good! They sell beers in pitchers that completes the meal! Always a great dinner! Highly recommended!

Typical hibachi in my opinion and people seem to love this place, but I got to tell you our chef did not put on a memorable show. I am not even sure our chef enjoyed being there. Also, the restaurant can use some upgrades (renovate the bathrooms and install new flooring throughout). In all, the experience was nothing special and I hope other patrons enjoy the experience more than we did. The portions were big and the food was good on a positive note.

I discover this place recently and hoped I can get a reservation over the weekend as it was told by others that either the voicemail was full or one did not get a phone call during the busy days. With a couple of phone call attempts, I decided to leave a voicemail and was quite happy to confirm my reservation over a returned phone call from Mori san. My husband and I really enjoyed teppanyaki from this place and both of us were very satisfied by the delicious food we had tonight. The staffs were extremely kind and friendly, very homely and casual setting which is great for family meal or over a date. We ordered NY steak with shrimp and calamari. Having to visit Japan several times, I truly appreciated the clean and fresh taste of each ingredient with light seasoning. No excessive sauce needed and when ingredient is good, it was just the way it should be. We loved the quality of beef and seafood we had today, even the grilled veggies were so awesome. Both of us are looking forward to coming back here whenever we crave the authentic Japanese teppayaki around the LA area.

We had a really great experience here! Our chef was very funny and interactive with my nephew, he was able to catch a piece of egg in his mouth which was really fun for him. Overall though the fried rice needed more egg and they don’t have the hibachi noodles but everything else was great!
