Richard’s Prime Rib & Seafood

It's an amazing six course dinner, served with a glass of wine. There is a full bar as well. The prime rib is most excellent. Love the art work they have on display. It's a classy place, but no need to dress up to go there.

This is a classic steakhouse, doing steaks right. The shrimp cocktail was so good, traditional cocktail sauce, not the sickly sweet stuff that you get find at other places. We stopped here on a visit to Fresno, and Iso glad we did. Portions are good size. I had the Ribeye but others in our party had the halibut, and I was eyeballing their plates because it looked and smelled so good, and it was a good portion as well.

We went on Valentines Day and made sure to make reservations well in advance knowing it would book fast. Altgough it was a limited menu, the food was fantastic and never disappoints. The service was decent and friendly unfortunately the ambiance was a HUGE disappointment. I've been to Richard's before and loved the romantic atmosphere. That is the exact opposite of what we received on Valentines Evening. We were taken to what felt like was the backroom storage area where we were seated at a 2 chair card table with a dollar store stained table cloth right outside the back bus area. There was zero appropriate lighting with bright white lights and all white walls. Privacy was non existing, it was a small room with approx. 12 (2) person tables. The food is really what saved the evening. Maybe next time we should just order out and create our own venue.

I first started going here over 35 years ago when Richard was making his customers feel very welcomed, and he was pleased to see you every time with a big smile on his face. It has not changed. The third generation is now running Richard's steakhouse and seafood. The setting is very intimate.The service is great. The food is delicious and plenty of it. The dinner started out with a hot basket of garlic bread and a shrimp cocktail. Then the salad came out, which was fresh and chilled. The 14oz prime rib was done to perfection served with baked potato and green beans. The 8oz bacon wrapped filet mignon was also done to perfection. Then, for dessert, we had a chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. I can not believe Richard's still has this high quality of dining and service after all these years. Richard's TOP NOTCH!!!! Thank you for making our 33-year anniversary so special .

The restaurant is very nice and intimate. The service was wonderful and I got the aged steak with mashed potatoes which was delicious. Neither of us were too big on their green beans which kinda taste like tomatoe soup, or his porterhouse that he ordered. It was a nice place regardless of the location and drinks were yummy. There are not many great steak places in Fresno but we would be back bother aggred the aged steak was better, more flavorful and we would go back for that.
