Customer Review Summary

Poached Neighborhood Kitchen offers delicious food that many patrons enjoy, particularly their chilaquiles and waffles. However, service is a recurring issue, with several reviews noting a lack of attention from staff after food is delivered. Some customers experienced long waits for additional items, and a few were left feeling ignored by the staff. On the positive side, many highlighted the welcoming atmosphere, cleanliness, and the high quality of fresh ingredients used. Overall, while the food receives consistent praise, the service has room for improvement.

I love coming here. Me and my husband work all week and only have one day off this place is our escape/date. The food is amazing, coming from someone who comes here once a week the service isn’t the greatest after they deliver your food. They don’t check up on you, it’s really rare they do.

Food is great but service doesn't exist. If you need more coffee, a box to go, anything other than what was initially brought to your table, good luck waiting for it. It took 20min to get a second cup of coffee. I was ignored by 2 people when I asked politely. They were next to me cleaning up and didn't even acknowledge me. Then my gf asked for a box to go and was told yes and she never came back. My gf had to ask someone at the register. Yeah we're not coming back. Because it's busy or popular doesn't mean you can ignore customers

New Year’s Eve brunch was great! The wait was a little long but service is always good here. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes for myself and my husband ordered the huevos rancheros. To drink we both had the fresh squeezed orange juice and the Dulce de leche latte with oat milk. We initially wanted the cafe de olla which was both on the menu and being advertised on the chalk board but when we ordered they told us they didn’t have it on the menu for the day….. booooo!!!!! Either way food and service here is always good and never disappoints:

I went with my friends to get breakfast. We had a good time and enjoyed the food. I love waffles and the one I had here was really good. I also loved the orange juice. It tasted freshly squished. My friend accidentally ordered something thinking it was one way but it turned out to be a different thing and they nicely replaced it. I will come back here. Also very nice customer service and everyone is so nice and attentive.

One of the best breakfast locations I have tried in LA. Very clean and has a great location. I love there eggs and I can order them clean veggie with peace of mind with no risk of cross contamination with any meat source

Met up for brunch here and got the birria egg Benedict’s that people have raved over as well as a mimosa. Birria was definitely not a traditional Hispanic type birria it was more of a thick richer taste with almost a mole consistency. It wasn’t amazing but wasn’t horrible either. They did a good job on poaching the egg tho and hash browns were really tasty. Mimosa was strong but not overwhelming.

Poached is one of our favorite places for Chilaquiles Verde [crispy tortilla chips | salsa verde | 2 eggs (any style)| queso fresco | cotija cheese | creamy cilantro sauce | pickled onions | avocado | cilantro | black beans on the side].

Looking for a good breakfast place while visiting Downey Ca, I may have found one. This popular local spot uses fresh ingredients to create their dishes. The food is good, portions are generous and all are priced accordingly. The French Toast was very flavorful and the bread was cooked perfectly, unlike other establishments where the bread tends to be a bit firmer (hard) which, negatively impacts the overall taste of the dish. The Steak and Eggs were good but the steak did lack seasoning and flavor and tasted a bit bland. The inside dining area is spacious, clean and can accommodate large groups. Outdoor seating is available should you desire. The painted wall decor is colorful creating a soothing relaxed atmosphere. The operational efficiency on how customers are greeted, seated and served is very much customer service friendly. You’re initially met by a greeter who directs you to a QR code where you’re able to view the menu and order. You’re then directed to a cashier where you pay for the meal (In advance, tip optional) and are then seated. Within 8 short minutes your food arrives table side. This process does have one distinct advantage, which, is your food arrives much quicker than most. The draw back, it’s already paid for if you’re dissatisfied. The servers were friendly and very attentive. I would suggest you arrive early since, it can get very busy. With that, other than the steak missing the mark, overall, I believe you’ll enjoy your dining experience here and would recommend this breakfast spot.
