So in keeping with “trying new places”.. We decided to try out Kanpai this week for our newest adventure. First off of all the Hibachi style places around, this one has a much better atmosphere than others that I’ve been too. I am not sure if the cooktops are smaller, but you are closer to the action so to speak. If you are going to a Hibachi style dinner you are going for a show too, and Kanpai did not disappoint. Our chef for the night was Micheal, who said he has been doing this for over 30 years and you could tell his expertise was on point! Our server made sure we had everything we needed and never had to ask for anything. Now the food… the food was fantastic; my steak was cooked exactly the way that I asked, and the flavors were Spot On. So, if you are looking to gather up your friends for a great night out with some good food, great entertainment then you should skip the other Hibachi places around and check out Kanpai. Be sure to ask for Micheal as your chef and you will have a very pleasant and memorable dining experience.

Our first time visiting and was very impressed. Our server was so good, she checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Our chef, Michael, was so sweet and helpful. He told me which sauce would go best with the shrimp and I loved it. Will definitely be back!

For the North Little Rock area. This place excels in many things but does fall short sometimes in hospitality and customer service. That being said, Peter, the sushi chef is a phenomenal Steward of his craft and I would definitely recommend eating what he puts out. I haven't tried anything else other than the sushi as I'm not really interested in hibachi, but I definitely think that this is worth your money in the area.

Great food and service. My family loves to eat here. The staff is attentive. The restaurant has a condensation problem. The main floor is always slippery, and the area rugs roll at the edges causing a trip hazard. Their bathrooms are dangerous! With the slippery floor, and multiple Wet Floor kick-stands, there is no real room to maneuver.

The teppanyaki chef was apparently related to the Latino group we were seated with as they spoke Spanish the entire time to the point it took forever to get his attention to get more sauce; to the point he couldn't pay attention to his cooking and over cooked our fillets. His idea of entertaining was throwing rice balls at the two children at the table trying to hit their mouths getting rice everywhere. Then to top it all off, the server brought the ticket and we waited, and waited , and waited some more, long after the rest of the table had left. I finally had to go to the sushi chef and ask "since we can't get the server to come back for us to pay, is the meal free?". Amazingly enough, we got to finally pay and leave.

This is DEFINITELY NOT WORTH $30. Was told my total was $20.34 and get home and look at the receipt and it says $29.34. Bad first experience trying something new. NEVER AGAIN and im getting my money back didn’t even eat any of it and they didn’t even clean my shrimp good ! So if I could no star I would …
